There is a very high demand for hotel rooms in Moscow and in order to help exhibitors participating at MiningWorld Russia , Overseas Business Travel has negotiated special rates. Exclusive exhibition rates can only be obtained through OBT. You are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

 

Important visa information!

 

Visa requirements for entry into Russia vary from country to country. You can obtain your visa through Overseas Business Travel - see note below. Please note that there is a charge for obtaining visas into Russia . Remember to give yourself enough time to plan your visa and travel arrangements.

 

N.B. ITE is not responsible for your visa requirements.

 

Business visas are obtained in 2 stages - please allow up to 21 working days in total!

 

First, fill in and return the Russian Visa Support Form as supplied by Overseas Business Travel (not ITE Group Plc). This will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow for registration.

 

Secondly, once OBT has received confirmation of your visa support registration from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they will inform you of how to proceed with obtaining your visa from your local Russian Consulate. For UK customers, OBT obtains the full visa for you from the Russian Consulate in London . This service is also available to exhibitors from outside the UK if required.

 

All bookings need to be returned 4 weeks prior to the start of the exhibition - otherwise surcharges may be levied!

 

 

Airport Transfers - essential in Moscow

 

You will arrive at the airport 'Sheremetievo-2', located 30 kilometres from Moscow . The airport (one of the 5 in Moscow ) is used for international flights. An excellent English-speaking hostess/guide wil meet you in the VIP hall. In the VIP hall, you will benefit from speedy passport and custom's procedure, assistance in the transit area, including assistance in filling in the custom's documents. There is a cozy atmosphere in the VIP hall, with cold drinks and fresh newspapers available. Transfers are provided from the airport to the city in a luxury car accompanied by the guide.

 

 

Pre- and Post-MiningWorld Russia Tours of Moscow City:

 

- City Tour including a trip to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, erected in 1883 to honour the victory in the Napoleonic war of 1812.

 

- The Kremlin and its Cathedrals - a unique complex of architectural monuments surrounded by ancient red brick walls crowned with 21 towers. One of the residences of the President of the Russian Federation is situated in the grounds of the Kremlin.

 

- The Diamond Fund - a gem collection housed in the Armory. The exhibits include the great inperial crown of gold, silver, diamonds and pearls made for the coronation of Empress Catherine 11, a scepter and orb covered with diamonds, the world's largest Ceylon sapphire (258.8 carats), the legendary giant diamonds of Orlov (189.6 carats).

 

- The Armory Chamber - the State Armory is the oldest Russian museum. It contains priceless monuments of Russian and foreign applied art that witnessed major historical events.

 

- Bolshoy Theatre - the best opera and ballet theatre in Russia, which, over recent years, has witness the talents f artists such as Galina Ulanova, Maya Plisetskaya, Maries Liepa, Rudolf Nuryev, Yekaterina Maksimova and Vladimir Vasilyev.

 

Evening!

 

- Dinner at the Godunov Restaurant - located in the centre of the city, close to Red Square and housed in the former refectory chambers of the Zaikonospassky monastery founded in the 17th century. The interior is decorated with sculptures of boyars, tiled stoves and paintings of Moscow 's ancient sights. The menu features a wide variety of Russian dishes cooked according to the old recipes. There is a live Russian folklore performance in the evening.

 

- Historical dinner in Morozov Palace - the exterior of the Palace is decorated with fancy turrets, carved stone lace and huge seashells which stand out amidst the Moscow architecture. Eclectic interior - Moorish, Greek and Roman Halls, Classical, Empire Rooms - used for special functions such as cocktails, buffets, sit-down dinners and performances.
